Empennage

Emp Crates

The beginning of a journey.

There it is folks.  Not much.  Only two small boxes that are going to turn into both the empennage (vertical stabilizer, rudder, horizontal stabilizer, elevators, trim tabs), as well as the Tailcone, almost half the fuselage.  One large rectangular and, in the back next to wall, one very narrow and long box.  Not much to show.

For those just starting, be prepared for an evening of parts inventory.  You've got 30-days to complete it, but if you have to work or travel, just call Van's to explain the issue and they'll be fine with it, like they were with me.

Make sure you have a helper check the parts off the enclosed list while you unwrap and unpack.  It would be helpful if you had your tables built, storage bins at the ready, and storage shelves available prior to this task.  You very quickly will need to get organized.

The materials, except the larger skins and fiberglass tips, are shrunk wrapped and divided into sub-assemblies.  This helps you when doing the inventory, so do not get too excited and start opening everything.  Take it one sub-assembly at a time.
