Step 1.  This looks easy, but it took me awhile to figure out how to position the side skins so I could get a good look at the rivet and control the squeezer.  Once I got the skin secured, it was easy.  I used 426AD3-3.5 rivets.  I don't think they mention which type to use.  At least I couldn't find any reference.  They also don't tell you to dimple the nutplates.  Do.  I didn't.  I didn't realize that nutplates could be dimpled.  Didn't even try.  What a dope.  Easy to do.  I'll take mine off and redo them if it matters, but i don't think it will.  i'll do it from now on, however, when needed.

Riveting the F-1012

Step 2.   Nothing to this.  Rivet the F-1010A into place.  Make sure the manufactured heads are on the F-1010.

Steps 3 & 4.  Rivet together the two halves of the F-1008, along with the rudder cable bracket.  Not hard.  I try to keep the shop head on the thickest part, so I put it on the F-1085.   Pop in the snap bushings when done riveting.

Note:  I used some E6000 to hold the snap bushings in place.  I don't trust them.  You can get the E6000 at Wal-Mart or a craft shop.

Step 5 & 6.   Easy.  Make sure that the Left half of the F-1007 is "under" the right half as shown in the drawing and rivet away.  Since both sides are the same thickness, I guess where you put the manufactured head doesn't matter.  Then install the two snap bushings and glue them in as above.

Step 7.   Rivet the three top pieces of the F-1006 bulkhead together and cleco on the bottom piece.  This is a little awkward, but if you put in the vice it'll behave.

Note:  This a good time to make sure that you are using a good rivet technique for this type of application.  Make sure that the piston of the squeezer is moving towards the rivet on the shop head side, while you pull the work piece gently towards you, thus securing the 426 rivet manufactured head in the dimple.  It's easy to practice on this piece, especially because it's so floppy, and thus you need to coordinate many things at once:  holding the piece still while securing the rivet and squaring the rivet set.  Fun.
